Meet the team

Alison Glover

Alison joined Arad in August 2014. Her research and evaluation interests include sustainable development, education and skills. She has volunteered and worked across all education sectors, with recent experience as a researcher and lecturer at the University of South Wales. Alison has a master’s degree in environmental education and a Doctorate in Education. She has presented at international business and education conferences, and published in peer reviewed journals. She has facilitated many workshops and focus groups to support the collection and dissemination of research data. Alison has evaluated apprenticeships for Creative Skillset and SkillsActive and evaluated the STEM Cymru 2 Programme for Engineering Education Scheme Wales.

Other recent project experience includes Teach First’s Careers and Employability Initiative, the evaluation of the Pioneer School Model, the Early Implementation of the Childcare Offer for Wales and research to establish the baseline position of the additional learning needs system in Wales.


Jennifer Lane

Meet the team

Jennifer Lane

Jennifer joined Arad as a researcher in 2013. Her areas of research interest include children and families, education, training and skills. With a BSc in Psychology and an MSc in Research Methods in Psychology, Jennifer has experience of conducting desk-based research, interviews, designing research tools and analysing data for both qualitative and quantitative research projects.

Jennifer’s research project experience includes qualitative research with families in receipt of support through the Welsh Government’s Flying Start programme, an evaluation of Creative Skillset’s Skills Investment Fund and an evaluation of Academi Wales’ All Wales Public Service Graduate Management Programme. Jennifer has also worked on a formative evaluation of the Macmillan Cancer Information and Support Services across Wales, research into young children’s needs and outcome in Wales (on behalf of Save the Children) and research into the value of apprenticeships to Wales (on behalf of the National Training Federation for Wales).

Prior to joining Arad, Jennifer worked at the Professional Associations Research Network (PARN), providing research support for many projects relating to the professional body sector.


Eluned Glyn

Meet the team

Eluned Glyn

Eluned is a researcher, who joined Arad in 2015. She has extensive experience of co-ordinating and conducting fieldwork including focus groups, consultations and case studies with members of the public, public bodies and third sector organisations. She has recently been analysing and collating data for consultation responses on the legislative proposal to remove the defence of reasonable punishment for Welsh Government. She has also been conducting interviews, supporting and analysing data for Wales Arts International’s Evaluation of their International Opportunity Fund. She has recently been conducting interviews with heritage and culture organisations for the Evaluation of Cultural Ambition for Creative and Cultural Skills.

She supported and conducted interviews for a series of case studies with community energy projects for the Smart Energy Future for Rural Areas report for Smart Energy GB. She has also worked on an evaluation of Farming Connect for Welsh Government, which provides help and guidance for farming businesses in Wales.

Eluned is a fluent Welsh speaker and is equally comfortable conducting interviews in Welsh or English. Before joining Arad, Eluned worked as a school administrator in a Welsh-medium secondary school.
